The Kind Grant

Every quarter, one nonprofit gets the whole build on us.

An in-kind grant, not a discount. No money changes hands. We do the work alongside your team, hand you the keys, and keep the lights on for free.

  • Open to registered 501(c) organizations in the United States
  • Applications open year round, reviewed at the end of each quarter
  • Selected organization contacted within two weeks

What the grant includes

  • Brand identity. Logo, colors, typography, and voice guidelines.
  • Custom website. Designed and developed with your team.
  • Basic hosting, free while you operate. No set end date.
  • Full ownership. Your site, code, and content are yours.

The grant covers one design and build. It does not include a domain name: your organization buys and owns its own. Future full redesigns are available at a deeply discounted nonprofit rate.

How it works

Three steps from application to launch.

1

Apply

Tell us who you are, what you do, and why a new brand or website would change something for the people you serve.

2

We select

At the end of each quarter we review every application and choose one organization. We look for clear impact and a team ready to collaborate.

3

We build together

Discovery, design, and launch alongside your team. We show you how everything works so you are never dependent on us.

Apply

Tell us about your organization.

We read every application. Not selected this quarter? You still get nonprofit pricing on everything we do.

“Grant reviewers and major donors visit your site before they decide. A clear, modern one answers their questions before anyone asks.”

Questions

The Kind Grant FAQ

Who is eligible for The Kind Grant?

Registered 501(c) nonprofit organizations in the United States. We are based in New Jersey and love working with organizations in the New Jersey and New York area, but location is not a requirement.

Is The Kind Grant really a free website?

Yes. It is an in-kind grant, not cash, so the selected nonprofit pays nothing for its brand identity, a custom website designed and developed with your team, or basic hosting for as long as your organization is operating. The one cost it does not cover is your domain name: your organization buys and registers it, so it is yours from day one. The code and content are yours too.

How long is hosting free?

For as long as your organization is operating. Granted sites stay on our basic hosting plan at no charge, with no set end date. If your needs grow beyond basic hosting, we will talk through options at nonprofit rates.

What happens if we need a redesign later?

The grant covers one design and build. If you want a full redesign down the road, we offer it at a deeply discounted nonprofit rate. Small updates and ongoing support are available too.

When do you choose the grant recipient?

Applications are open year round. We review them at the end of each quarter and reach out to the selected organization within two weeks. If you are not selected, you are welcome to apply again next quarter.

Can we hire you for a paid project instead?

Absolutely. Any nonprofit can work with us, grant or no grant. We know most nonprofits run on tight budgets, so we offer nonprofit rates and stay flexible on scope. Tell us what you can spend and we will build a plan around it.

Let's build something good together.

Apply for this quarter's grant, or start a conversation about a paid project at nonprofit rates. Either way, we are glad you are here.
